I feel like we’ve done a speed run from Acadia National Park through Michigan. We didn’t get to see all the people we wanted to, and we didn’t get to spend near enough time with the folks we did get to see. Having a few hard and fast deadlines has made this leg of the journey more stressful than we’d prefer, but life doesn’t always bend to our wishes, does it?
One highlight though was seeing one of our oldest friends again. We hadn’t seen Ed in over 5 years, and not for 6 years before that! Another was meeting Jeff’s nephew’s baby, some friends’ niece’s baby, and Jeff’s goddaughter’s baby. The latter, who when she would fuss, the phrase “To the pantry!!” rang out. (Not to worry, it’s because she likes the lights and colors in there.)
Below are some snapshots from our speed run through Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan.
